Welcome to Pack 81, Austin Texas

Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 81.

Our pack meetings are normally held at 6:00 pm on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at Kocurek Elementary.  Pack 81 is part of the Thunderbird District, which belongs to the Capitol Area Council based in Austin, Texas. If you live in Austin, or plan to come to Austin, please contact us from our Contact Page for general comments or information about joining our Pack.

Is that you?? Are you the one we’re looking for??

If you are in kindergarten through the 5th grade and would like to have lots of fun camping, fishing, hiking, going on cool trips (spending a night on the USS Lexington aircraft carrier), building and racing cars, launching rockets, and meeting new friends…then Cub Scout Pack 81 is looking for YOU!

Now is the perfect time for you to sign up for Cub Scouts and have fun all year round!

What is Cub Scouts about?

  • Cub Scouting promotes: self-worth, imagination, self-discipline, team-work, cooperation, importance of family & friends, good citizenship and much, much more.

What kind of things do Cub Scouts do?

  • We go camping 3 times per year where the whole family can go and participate.
  • There are skills that Cub Scouts learn while having fun as well as making new friends, and learning about the world around them. There are many opportunities for the scouts and their families to enjoy the outdoors and each other. You and your child get the chance to experience all kinds of new and adventurous things.

Don’t have camping gear, don’t worry, we can tell you what you need to camp for the first time.

Come and Join in on the FUN!

Meeting Announcements and Bobcat Requirement

Posted on Sep 15 2026 - 10:23pm

Our Linktree has a bunch of links of things discussed at our meeting today. This includes how to sync the Pack Calendar with your Google Calendar or Apple Calendar. All families need to discuss the "How to Protect Your Children from Child Abuse" with their kids and log in Scoutbook or notify a leader that you have to earn Bobcat. You are welcome to go into whatever level of depth on this topic that suits your family. This is a topic that Scouting America takes very seriously (and all the leaders have to take specific training in this matter). The purpose of this requirement is to make sure you are also aware of the protections put in place by the program.

Popcorn Fundraiser

Posted on Sep 15 2026 - 10:19pm

Hopefully everyone enjoyed the popcorn samples at today's meeting! To sign up and sell popcorn at our organized storefronts you will need the Trail's End app, see instructions below.
